SCHIST PEBBLE

The Golovin sample was rich with metamorphic pebbles grains and the "huge" slab shown below. The sample was very thin, and looked extremely fragile, but it apparently isn't. The three images with the red lines are 1X, 2X, and 3X  MAGNIFICATION

 

 

 

PORPHYRY PEBBLE

I assume this is a quartz pebble. The black crystals at first didn't look like anything special. When I processed the !X image I saw the hexagonal shape of some of the crystals. I couldn't resist shooting a 1X - 5X series of this great pebble. Thanks Pam for another truly unique Alaskan sample!
