Schramm Park, Platte River

Kathy Kordes Images

"[The area] was once a part of an inland sea, and the area has a lot of fossil in the stone and loose in the soil. [T]he picture is actually part of an area in the park here that is designated as a 'Geological Area' and is visited students from the University of Nebraska on a regular basis. The sand is loved by the local sand and gravel companies because so much of it is silca sand used in the manufacturing of concrete." - Kathy Kordes
