ORGANIC REMAINS TRAPPED BETWEEN THE ROCKS

They were putting in a new gas line on the access road beside my house. A huge pile of construction sand was deposited in my yard! It rained - gently. The end result were the structures shown below. The flat stones in the sand actually prevented the grains under them from being eroded. Neat!
