I received this sample at a National
Association of Geology Teacher's meeting held at Wood's
Hole. It was the "special gift" they had for all
participants. It is truly a beautiful sample. I've never
been to Chatham, so I don't know if the sand is plentiful or
if it's there anymore. The purple mineral is garnet.
