UNKNOWN DESTROYED BLACK SAND BEACH , HAWAII
The student who brought in this sample
could not give me the name of the beach. All he knew is that
it was on the Big Island, and that it had been destroyed by
a lava flow after the sample was collected. The sand had a
very glassy sheen to it. The spots of white on the grains
are the reflections from my photo floods. The reflectance
graph is also one of the lowest I have done! Great sample!
