GENE AUTRY MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN WEST "GOLD" PANNING |
GOLD PANNING DOCENT AND INTERESTED GRANDSON - Charles F. Lindgren Photographs |
We had an incredible visit at the Gene Autry Museum of the American West. A great sand bonus was my grandson, Clark, getting the chance to pan for "gold" at an exhibit. Gold had to be in quotes because instead of real gold samples, iron pyrite was substituted. This gave a great modeling activity of panning for gold without having real samples. The docent did a great job explaining how panning worked. Nicely done! |
