"The samples were collected from Folsom Lake next to Granite Bay, near Sacramento. The reservoir is way down(they open the tainter gates each year in preparation for new water from snow melt in the Sierras). One can walk along the shoreline filled with large granite boulders in the foothills of the Sierras. Interesting texture and fascinating geology." Gary Foster |
