MAZATLAN, MEXICO - APRIL 8, 2024 TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE SUN

WAITING FOR TOTALITY - Frances C. Lindgren Photograph

WELCOME TO OUR ECLIPSE SITE! WE VIEWED THE ECLIPSE FROM MAZATLAN, MEXICO

From a perfect Mexican beach I started taking images at first contact, and continued until the end of totality. Click on the eclipse images for larger versions. During totality I took images USING the same f/stop and shutter speed. The sky conditions were not perfect, and I wasn't sure how to handle it. You can see the clouds in the muddied partial images.

Under each of the partial eclipse images is a photograph showing the amount of light in the area. The 9:50 A.M. image was taken on "AUTOMATIC." I noted the f/stop and shutter speed and changed the setting to "MANUAL." The images show how the deteriorated. The final image under "TOTALITY," has the camera back on "AUTOMATIC" showing the quality of light we saw just after totality. Also, I must confess that the Diamond Ring photograph is not mine. Mm image was grossly over exposed. THANK YOU DAVID GAMBLE FOR SHARING THIS IMAGE WITH ME.
