I'm guessing some type of willow branch for this one, only because it looks like a modern willow. We collected this in the Green River Shale in the Severns Fossil Quarry in Kemmerer, Wyoming. The Geologic History of Fossil Butte National Monument and Fossil Basin published by the National Park Service, lists the following trees as being found in the area at that time: oak, elm, maple, and beech. Closer to Fossil lake were willows laurel, and fig trees. Since this came from the same area as the fish, I assume it was very near the lake.
