HOPEWELL CAPE , NEW BRUNSWICK  45.82N, 64.57W

As the image below shows, it was a dark and dreary day. We went to the Bay of Fundy full of hope and expectations. They were all dashed. This was the clearest day! The beach and the rocks were spectacular! The rock formations, known as Flowerpot Rocks, are a combination of conglomerate with a softer sandstone at the base. Erosion from the daily massive tides have worn away the softer sandstone. I assume that's where the sand originates. The individual sand grains are huge and very angular.
