PAINTED ROCK PETROGLYPH SITE, DATELAND 33.01N, 113.03W

"Sand sample is
from Painted Rock Petroglyph Site, near Dateland, Arizona
(90 miles southwest of Phoenix).
Arizona has many petroglyphic rock sites. The Painted Rock
Site is the largest known, with about 800 images - all
within an easy walk. The rock drawings date from 12,000 to
7,500 years ago and, probably, were produced by the Aztecs,
Gilas, and maybe the Hohokams. The Bureau of Land Management
manages this well maintained, historical, site." B.
