This was one of my favorite fossils. My students always called this "nuts and bolts" because that's what it looks like! It was collected by my great friend and mentor Ed when he was at Indiana University many years ago. The fossils themselves aren't much, but they were great conversation starters for my fossil unit. Thanks for the great sample Ed!

Usually the only part of the crinoid you find is the "stem." I was fortunate to get to be near a "head" when I attended the workshop at the Harvard Museum of Natural History.
