DESCRIPTION - 1

"This picture shows a surface that is not smooth and has varying shades of brown with a white vertical line down the middle. Of the 9 vertical lines, the longest vertical line is in the middle of the picture. In the center of the longest line is a narrow, green rectangular shape. The lower part of the vertical line shows a white curved line with smaller lines going horizontally out toward the side of the picture. There are patches of white and green scattered throughout the surface. Sun is coming from the left side of the picture."

DESCRIPTION - 2

"This surface is varying tones of gray in color.  There are visible numerals and letters.  There is one straight line which seems to have depth or fracture.  The light seems to be coming from the upper left."

DESCRIPTION - 3

"Predominate color is light gray with two large black objects: 1) one third of the image from left edge, extending from bottom edge to one-third from top edge; 2) smaller object is near right edge, about one-third up from bottom edge.  Both objects are somewhat elongated. Two large medium gray irregularly shaped objects appear:1) from left edge to upper edge, 2) center of photograph.  Direction of light is uncertain."

DESCRIPTION - 4

"This dark background is the setting for a metallic frame that has a sculpture of a square billowing sail and skull and cross bones that is illuminated."

DESCRIPTION - 5

"The image is entirely composed of various shades of grey ranging from almost pure white to black. There is a black horizontal band extending from one side of the image to the other at almost the very bottom of the image. The rest of the image can be divided into two unequal areas. The first area is found at the top of the photograph. It is lighter in color and smoother than the second area. A very irregular line separates the two areas. The line is dark and contains numerous indentations, some of them are almost circular. The second large area dominates the bottom of the image. It is darker in color, and has a much rougher texture. At the boundary between the dark and light areas, and almost dead center in the image is a smaller, irregular grey area that is smoother than the lower, but coarser than the upper area."

DESCRIPTION - 6

"There is a roundish blob object in the middle of the photo - it is varying tones of orange.  It seems to be on top of a grayish flat surface.  There is a dark blue surface behind the first two objects.  There are small, circular dots on the photo in no particular design; there is also a very light horizontal streak about three quarters of the way from the lower edge.  There is a vertical brown area in the lower right."

DESCRIPTION - 7

"The image is predominately tan/orange swirls extending from lower edge into upper half of picture with two large swirls. The other predominate color is blue/black, located mostly in the upper left.  The orange is striated with dark brown swirls at the lower edge punctuated with black dots, and with white swirls in the two larger forms at the top of the image. At the middle center and right edge, thread-like tan lines appears.  Diffused light appears to come from the lower right."

DESCRIPTION - 8

"The color seems to be predominantly varying tones of brownish-tan.  The left side seems to be gray-white with blotches.  Some surfaces seem to be flat despite the varied color.  The foreground seems to be a disarray of stick-like objects with no discernible pattern.  The rear portion seems to be more ordered with smallish, rounded objects and larger rounded objects, again with no particular structural pattern.  The lighting does not give a good perspective of size."

DESCRIPTION - 9

"The image is  divided into five unequal horizontal layers. The layers roughly alternate between light and dark. In the dark horizontal layers are light colored vertical irregular structures. In the center light-colored layer are two roughly circular structures that are about the same diameter, but not all of the dark circular structure on the left is shown. The light circular structure on the right has a dark ring surrounding it. The overall texture  of all the layers appears to be rough."

DESCRIPTION - 10

"This image has an orange and yellow background with a circular dark brown center. The lower right hand corner is missing some of the orange color. The right hand edge has a bright reflection in the shape of a lunar phase."

DESCRIPTION - 11

"Mixed yellow fuzzy grained. Uneven surface with overlapping edges, curved or half-mooned in nature. Light is coming from the bottom of the picture."

DESCRIPTION - 12

"The image is dominated by dark, rounded boulders. Some of the boulders are dark on top with a lower portion covered with white dots. The two areas on the boulders are separated by an almost straight line. Many of the boulders are also covered by vegetation. Water can be seen in the background. The foreground has a blurry array of light-colored thin lines. Almost dead center in the photograph is a white owl."

DESCRIPTION - 13

"This is a shot of a small 2.5" x 2.5" area of landscape showing gray amorphous conical solid shaped forms on a red and yellow mottled crystalline background. Inside each form are opening bud like pods. Light comes from above."

DESCRIPTION - 14

"This is a debris field of rounded boulders (or stones) laying in desert like sand, oriented generally diagonally in this picture. The patterning in the sand indicates that it was either windblown of that it was laid down by moving water eddying around the rocks which evaporated or simply drained away. The sand is gray and the rocks are various solid colors, blue, black, brown and off white."
